You know that little place that you always see out the driver’s window and you think to yourself, I really must stop there one day? Well, being as how the wind made filming anything difficult, we decided that we would go on a fact finding mission, giving us the brilliant opportunity to actually stop.
What a great environment to sit quietly with your ipad or your laptop and have a cup of coffee and just do some work. However, on this occasion it was Sharon and I looking for some brunch when we found the loveliest, down to earth café staff member with a wonderful sense of humour, adding to the charm of this neat little café. The great combination of rustic decorations and plant life ornamentation makes you feel like you are tucked away from the rest of the world.
So, now that we are all nice and relaxed, let’s have a look at what we ordered.
Vegetarian Breakfast – Fried eggs with grilled halloumi, grilled tomato, roasted garlic mushrooms, wilted spinach and hash browns served on toast $22.00
Hamburger with the works – Homemade meat patty, tasty cheese, tomato, beetroot, lettuce, bacon, pineapple, egg and bbq sauce on a milk bun – served with chips $23.00
Big 5 Smoothie – Strawberry, mango, kiwifruit, apple and pineapple $9.50
Fresh Squeezed Pineapple Juice $6.50
This is home-style food - very tasty and very filling. My only suggestion would be that the works burger could go on a slightly larger plate. It can be a feat of engineering at the best of times and if I am to do battle with such a beast, I might like to have a slightly larger arena, especially if the burger is sharing a plate with a generous serving of wonderful chippies. 😊
Backed up by fresh and cold juices, this was the perfect way to get ready for a day exploring – a cool oasis on a sunny day. We will be back and we recommend you check it out too!
