moggill cafe & espresso bar

Jude Star here, bringing you more of the best from the west (well, west Brisbane anyway).

This morning found us at the Moggill Village Shopping Centre to pick up some early essentials at the supermarket. When my partner in crime suggested a bite of breakfast (his shout) at the newly opened Moggill Cafe & Espresso bar, who was I to say no? Never let it be said that Jude Starr turned down a free feed.

We chose an inside seat (you can sit outside as well if preferred), and perused the extensive menu. There are many offerings available to suit all dietary requirements, including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, and of course my favourite, the all day breakfast.

While my dining companion decided to eat lightly (given this was an unplanned outing so he had already eaten some cereal) I went for a somewhat more substantial selection from the specials menu…

My sidekick reported that his toasted banana bread was moist and delicious, and smothered in butter. When my french toast came out, I was impressed. Stylishly presented, complete with mint leave and edible flowers, this thick piece of brioche was perfectly prepared, featuring crisp crusts and fluffy interior, and served with beautiful fresh berries and lashings of syrup and Nutella. I certainly didn’t leave the table hungry.

Accompanied by full flavoured coffees (they are licensed, but it was probably a bit early for a cocktail), we were able to go about the rest of our morning totally satisfied.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food and coffees came out quickly, even though the place was busy. Moggill Cafe & Espresso Bar may only be a newcomer to the area, but it certainly looks like they are here to stay!
