Good food doesn’t only appear at night. Believe it or not, you can get great meals for breakfast and lunch out in the 2 hour circle also. We have been keen to try this place for a while now but, at this stage they don’t open for dinner – which is a real shame just quietly, it’s a great little venue. So, with a big day ahead we opted for a brunch review instead.

Brekky Brunch on Board – Bacon, poached eggs, avocado, roasted tomatoes, grilled halloumi, toasted sourdough, house baked scone, tomato relish, basil pesto and whipped cream $22.00

Stir fry Mushrooms & baby Spinach – with garlic, ginger and chilli served on toasted sourdough with poached eggs and beetroot puree (side of grilled haloumi) $23.50

Who doesn’t love a good brekky board? When you get a late start and you know that you have a big day, this is how you do it. Beautifully poached eggs with some haloumi, bacon, grilled tomato and a generous portion of avocado and some sourdough toast. And, if that doesn’t fill you up, there’s a scone that was beautiful and warm and fluffy in the middle with fresh cream. Wash that down with your coffee of choice and you have all of the calories you need for a big day.

Thoroughly enjoyable, beautifully presented and exactly what a busy guy wants.

Sharon opted for something slightly smaller with the mushroom dish – though she changed her mind three times between the table and the counter. That Beef Korma sounded great too. I must say I was mildly envious, especially of that beetroot puree. To be honest, I may have stolen just a little.

I can’t wait to try out of more of the menu as time permits and, if you’re out in the burbs drop into the Silkstone shopping centre and try this little gem out. Whilst we’re talking about this shopping centre, just a heads up, there’s another venue that I can’t wait to share with you shortly. It’s a wee cracker!
